The Malls

This week we made our rounds to several different malls.  We have quickly learned that on hot Texas summer days the mall play area is a life-saver.  (It's also very good on rainy days - so you really can't lose.)  Sunday we met the McGary family for lunch and then headed to Collin Creek mall for some shopping and playing.

Sunday evening our Clayton Clan from Colorado showed up for a short visit on their way back from a baseball tournament.  Here are the 3 younger cousins providing us with some entertainment.

Tuesday we headed to Willow Bend mall to check out their play area.  If you have ever wondered where all the stay-at-home moms and nannies hang out during the day this would be the place.  It was packed full of little munchkins, but Carson had a ton of fun.
Thursday we met some friends at our neighborhood park.  They hunted for bugs and baby frogs (I just watched) and then the kids had fun swinging and running around.
After the park, we headed to our house so they could take a ride in Carson's new toy.  Since he's too small to reach the pedal he can't actually drive it yet.  Scout was nice enough to drive both Carson and Brooke around.

The car ride didn't wear the kids out so we headed to the Galleria mall to check out their play area.  Aurora showed us the ropes - how to maneuver the parking garages, elevators, entrances, etc.  The Galleria wins first prize for their play area and here's why:  it's close to the entrance - so not too far to herd the kids and it makes for a quick exit if needed, it's next to some family friendly bathrooms (little midget size potty and sink), and it's right beside some good food places so you can grab a drink and sit and enjoy the show.

Carson's favorite part was climbing up this rock like structure and then rolling back down it.
Here's Carson and Brooke sitting on the elephant.  They are so cute together.
