Trial Run

As most of you know, Carson has been sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed since he was oh, let's just say FOREVER!!  We love snuggling with him and so it's been a hard decision to move him to his own room.  Neither one of us is strong enough to make it happen.  This summer we are attempting to at least get him to take his naps in there.  Yesterday was our first trial run.  He fell asleep in the rocker with daddy and we carried him in to his toddler bed (the one he has NEVER slept in).  He slept in there for about 2 hours!!  One point for the parents.

Last night, we were feeling brave so we tried it again.  Put him in his bed about 9:30 (half-time of the Lakers - Celtics game) and he slept until about 11:00 when he woke up crying for mama.  Chris went in there and told him to go back to sleep and put his head back on the pillow. You're never going to believe this, but IT WORKED.  The monkey went back to sleep.  It was the strangest thing to go to our own room and go to bed without having to watch Dora.  Now, we are very realistic and we know that this habit won't change over night so we weren't disappointed when he woke up crying for us at 2:00 a.m.  And yes, we brought him back to bed with us and snuggled our little monkey back to sleep. 

I'm sure by time he's 15 he'll be sleeping all night long in his own bed.
